If you take South Boulder Road east from Boulder and past Louisville, you will run into Lafayette. Going east down Highway 36 and exiting onto Wadsworth will also get you there.
First settled in 1862, Lafayette began as a farming and mining town. Today, it has grown up to be a city filled with parks, a quaint downtown area and open space, representative of the land that first helped develop the city. To this day, Lafayette maintains a sense of community with its many brewing companies, arts and local events.
Looking for a prime location? Lafayette has easy access to Boulder, Broomfield, Denver and Erie. The cost of living ranks higher than other cities in America, but offers more affordable prices compared to Boulder. Currently, the median cost of a home in Lafayette is in the high $200's. The city also offers opportunities for residents looking for a new home. Many new builds have broken ground in the area and more new build sites are on their way.
One of the most sought after neighborhoods in Lafayette is the Indian Peaks neighborhood. This neighborhood is located by the Indian Peaks Golf Course and split into three subdivisions: South, East and West. First breaking ground in 1997 by Mc Stain, this area offers newer homes with open space and beautiful views of the mountains.
