Longmont is located in northeastern Boulder County. Being north, the city has most accessibility to Boulder, Niwot and Northern Colorado. Many residents who commute to Greeley, Loveland or Fort Collins also live here.
The city, founded in 1871 as an agricultural town, has not always ranked as a top place to live in Boulder County. But, in the recent years that has changed and Longmont is becoming more popular. Today, Main Street hosts many quaint retailers and restaurants, creating a more distinct community vibe.
It has also become popular for its more affordable prices as compared to Boulder and the many New Builds in the area. While prices at the beginning of the 2016 real estate season remained reasonable, trends indicate that Longmont won't remain that affordable forever.
New Builds in the area include:
The Shadow Grass Park Community, Neighborhoods Point Express Community, Prairie Village Community, Yeager Farm Community and more.
